My name is Asher Heimermann, 14, from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I am supporting Barack Obama because I believe he is the right candidate to bring the change we need. I know that Senator Barack Obama and Senator Joe Biden are best prepared to address our economic crisis by bringing tax relief to working families, protecting American jobs and investing in education and new technology. As a student in a public high school in the Midwest, I understand the importance of education and how my education will lead to my career later in life.
Senator Obama has dedicated his career to bring people together to tackle the large issues facing our country. As a state Senator he worked with Republicans to expand healthcare to 150,000 children in Illinois and passed $100 million in tax cuts for working families. In the United States Senate, Senator Obama worked across the aisle to pass ethics reform leglation that was described as the "gold standard" for ethics reform. He worked with Republican Senator Richard Lugar to pass legislation to secure dangerous nuclear weapons.
As President, Senator Obama will bring the change we need and make this economy work for the middle class families by cutting their taxes and reducing the cost of gas and healthcare. I support Senator Obama and Senator Biden because I want America to be the country of hopes and dreams. I hope that you will join me and support Barack Obama and Joe Biden on November 4th. Time and time again, Senator Obama has proven himself as a leader who can bring together people of all different backgrounds and beliefs to help us address the important problems facing the country. He is the type of leader we need in Washington to get this nation on the right track.

MY PERSONAL FUNDRAISING GOAL:
As a young American, I dream of a President who is honest, personable, intelligent, and wise. I want a leader with courage and integrity who has known the struggles of an everyday American. A lot of people have stopped believing that may even be possible. I haven't stopped believing. I support Senator Barack Obama because he is that leader.

Please help donate to personal fundraising goal for Senator Barack Obama and Senator Joe Biden. Every dollar counts. You're not just helping me reach my personal fundraising goal but you're also helping Senator Obama and Senator Biden get elected as our next President and Vice President of the United States of America.
Let's be very clear about what's at stake this November. We're either going to get ourselves back on track or we're gong to face another round of the same failed policies we've had for the last eight years.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a change. That's why I'm so excited about Senator Barack Obama.
So, here's what I want you to do. Click Here, and join me in making a contribution to elect Senator Obama this November. With the support of hundreds of Democrats across the nation, I have already raised $4,400! I still need to raise $500 more to reach my fundraising goal.
I believe we're about to elect one of the greatest presidents in a long time -- Barack Obama. But if his campaign is not funded until Election Day, his agenda to help middle-class families is going to run into a roadblock.

I know that politicians are constantly asking for your money and support. But you have to remember that Senator Obama is not a career politician. He's a man who knows what America needs are and knows what he's fighting for. And, with our help, he'll be a President we can be proud of.

For the love of Man.
As I watch the democratic primaries progress my heart continues to sink. I have stopped watching private media, nbc, cbs, abc, and am now only getting my news from a few various websites and NPR. When I am accidentally privy to the private media I am disgusted by the image they are painting of one candidate or the other. These, the news corporations who stole the presidency from Al Gore in 2000. These, the news corporations who so willing believed and followed George Bush to war with Iraq. These, the news corporations who FAILED to investigate George Bush's claims. Investigation, something we should EXPECT from REPORTERS. This is their job, is it not? This is why we listen to them night after night and fill their pockets by watching their advertising. Instead the vast majority of the American public sits and watches as they extol Barack Obama while quietly and deliberately debasing him at the same time. They know that Barack will be the easier democratic candidate to defeat and it sickens me, once again, to watch private news determine the fate of our country.
As senator Obama openly calls women "Sweetie" in front of thousands of people and Hillary Clinton is dropped for a younger, attractive, male candidate. I am sickened and depressed by the entire debacle and want to give it up. But how do I give it up? Where do I go? This is the land of the free, we do not yet openly operate upon bribery and relations to secure jobs, and necessities. This, of course, is more than we can say in many countries.
Question: Where in the world is it safe to be a female? Answer: Not here.
My young coworkers at my aerospace company tell me that for the first time they are excited by a presidential candidate that they are interested in giving money to a campaign Do not let the young and inexperienced destroy our country. When I ask them about the issues they cannot tell me what, the difference between one candidate and the other is. They cannot tell me what was wrong with Ronal Reagan. They cannot tell me about Darfur or Palestine or China. They cannot tell me about drug companies or Social Security or healthcare. We, the young, have had to work for nothing, we have been given everything. We take the elections from the experienced simply because we want it and because the television tells us to want it. Our generation does not contribute, does not volunteer, does not pay attention and yet we are taking over the party.
The new democrats, the first time contributors, the first time voters, have commandeered the democratic party, while we who have been working, volunteering and contributing for years are the forgotten the lost and the unimportant in this election. Years of experience, knowledge and hard work have been forgotten and determine unimportant. How does the DNC expect to win this election if they are ignoring their base? Who will they have for future funding and volunteer efforts if they bend to the fickle independent voters who respond solely to popular news organizations controlled by right extremists?
This looks as if it could be a major embarrassment for the DNC in the near future.

We have the hope that this year; Politics could arise above the negative politics of old. Unfortunately, we see that again, the same oh, same oh; from the Clinton's and their surrogates.
I spoke with a number of young people this past weekend. If they (and I) feel that the Clinton's have used dirty / negative politics in order to win the Democratic nomination. These young people will either not vote (a vote for McCain); vote 3rd Party (a vote for McCain) or vote for McCain.
If the Democrats want to win in November; they will have to project a new Democratic Party and not fall back on the politiking of old.
Senator Obama represents a new start for America and American politics. This is what the country wants and needs. If Senator Clinton is elected to the White House, the Republican party will attack her every single day of her administration. If Senator Obama is elected; he would probably bring many Democrats along into the US Congress and possibly obtain a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. If Hillary wins; we won't get a follow thru in the US Congress; but still have gridlock.
If Senator Obama becomes President; he will have a grace period similar to FDR's 1st 100 days. FDR was able to implement dozens of changes that still affect America today. Senator Obama could also have this grace period and "mandate" for change. That is what this election comes down to. If we really want change; Hillary needs to not provoke this race beyond Texas and Ohio. Otherwise, the Republicans will win in November and the country is lost for another 4 years and trillions more in debt.
We need a million youth march to converge at the Democratic convention. Regional groups of students from around the country arriving each day, so that at the opening of the convention there are a million young Democratic supporters clamoring for an honest and openly brokered convention. Otherwise, these votes and these voters will be lost to the Democratic Party for decades to come.
Remember the 1968 Democratic convention ? We do not want a repeat of that; however, we no longer want the politics of old.
America needs a new breeze; Yes We Can
As many know, I do not obsess over polls as much as the average person. Because of my understanding of the way polls are conducted, having worked in a polling firm , I don't get as stressed out. But just as I blogged before the Iowa Caucuses regarding the polls , I feel the same way going into New Hampshire.
The RCP Average has Barack Obama ahead and the IMP has him at 83.8. But as with Iowa's Poll numbers , so it is with New Hampshire's Poll numbers. It's not what they show. In my opinion, it's what they don't show . Young people are not exclusive to Iowa and they are still not being polled nationally.
I expect another surprise. We shall see though. This is a Primary. Not a Caucus and there are some differences. This time, people will be going into the booth and will vote in private soooo, the implication in that argument is, what will they do when no one is looking? Oooh. On the flip side, the Youth will show up and we already know how they feel considering Barack Obama is the only candidate that actually includes them in his campaigns. Also, they have like what, 8 hours as opposed to a set time? Oh yeah baby. That's a plus right there.

Young Democrats prefer Obama

Polls show Sen. Hillary Clinton with an ever-increasing lead over the other Democratic candidates. I implore the supporters of other candidates, particularly of Sen. Barack Obama, to not get discouraged. Polls are not always accurate.
Canvassing the homes of registered Democrats in the Concord area, I have yet to speak to someone who has put his or her support behind Hillary Clinton. Voters either say they support Obama or they are undecided. The majority of those who remain undecided say they are leaning toward Obama or Edwards.
Last weekend outside the Jefferson-Jackson fundraising dinner in Manchester, supporters for the major Democratic candidates lined Elm Street, waving signs and chanting. Obama's supporters took up far more of the block than did Clinton's and included a sizeable number of high school and college students.
Obama enjoys greater support among younger voters than does Clinton. A quick look on the Facebook "Politics" application shows that while Clinton has just over 49,000 supporters, Obama has well over 150,000. How many pollsters call cell phones in dorm rooms across the country for students who have never voted before and may not yet be registered? My guess: very few. With such overwhelming support for Barack in America's youth, they may well be the deciding factor.
Undecided voters, I encourage to see the senator speak in person. His charisma and authenticity may sway you. Barack supporters, visit the campaign headquarters in Concord or Manchester, volunteer for the campaign and help this great candidate succeed.
NEWS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Today Iowa Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro, Rock the Vote, and Iowa PIRG’s New Voters Project announced a joint nonpartisan effort, Rock the Caucus, to encourage young voter participation in the 2008 Iowa presidential caucuses. Endorsed by both the Iowa Democratic and Republican parties, the program will use an educational curriculum, volunteer leaders, and peer-to-peer outreach to mobilize high school and college students to the January caucuses.
Rock the Caucus will secure pledges from high school seniors and college students to caucus and bring their friends to the caucuses. In high schools, Rock the Vote, the Iowa Secretary of State, and participating teachers and administrators will participate in a Mock Caucus and implement the Rock the Caucus curriculum to teach new potential caucus-goers how the process works and encourage them to bring their friends along; on college campuses, Iowa PIRG will recruit hundreds of “Caucus Rock Stars,” student leaders who will get 20 of their peers to pledge to caucus and help to turn them out to the caucuses in their hometowns or near their college campus.
"Across the nation, young voters turned out in large numbers in the 2004 and 2006 general elections – the first step to continuing that momentum in 2008 is mobilizing young voters in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuss. We’re thrilled to work with Iowa Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro and Iowa PIRG to tap the voting power of young adults in Iowa and continue the recent trend of growing young voter participation."

Today at Cornell, we had a rally for Barack Obama. It was the perfect day for a rally, sunny and a balmy 75 degrees (in ITHACA! IN OCTOBER!! If this isn't proof of global warming, I don't know what is!). I haven't been very active in the Cornell for Barack Obama group, but it's been by far the most active and visible of the student campaign organizations on campus
From Kos at Daily Kos.
This is the trend that proves the Republicans are on their way out. ( LITERALLY ).
