Barack Obama, Joe Biden 2008!

I haven't written in a while, but after the collapse of several of the largest financial keystones in the country I feel like it's important to get a few words out. The NY times and a few other news agencies have mentioned how Barack Obama is now changing his focus from previous topics over to the economy. I think that's great. There are enough Barack Obama supporters to understand where he's going and coming from to realize it's not just a publicity stunt. The thing that the NY Times and other organizations don't realize is that there is a huge fear in the back of many Americans minds as to what will happen now that banks and other huge companies are collapsing. It's NOT a publicity move. Obama didn't make this happen and he's not benefiting from giving his opinions about the situation. I for one would love to know how he will react to such a newsworthy even such as lehman going down the tubes. This is respectable. I hope the media don't twist it any more than they already have.

Every four years, the Democratic Party assembles a platform that outlines the party's position on a variety of issues. Traditionally, the platform is written by paid professionals and then presented to the American people. This year, thats going to change. I am holding three Platform Meetings in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. We will meet to talk about what issues are most importantand what should be at the heart of the Democratic platform for change. The results of these Platform Meetings will be incorporated into the formal process that culminates in the adoption of the platform at the Democratic Convention in August.

Greetings All,

In searching for a group nearby, I came across very few here and those that were here had so few members. I wanted to create a group where people in Oklahoma, whether they be Democrats or Undecided can come here to discuss the issues, the candidates, any questions they may have and to share information. I didnt want to create it for any one candidate because, as I do have my preference, I still believe that it is important for those of us in the Party to unite, regardless of that candidate that we back.

It comes down to the same basic principle....CHANGE. We need a change in this country more than ever. The US needs a reason to believe in their president again without so many reservations, there should be a United front of all Americans behind their president! Now, more than ever, it is time to elect someone who can pull this country together, to remove the Republican party who has caused so much disorder here and vote a Democrat who truely believes in change...it is time to UNITE!!

Finally, let's see if those Pollsters know what they're talking about! This week was the Opening Pitch of the Political Season in Iowa (I know, "They" have been "Pitching Us" for almost a year), but there are a lot of innings to go. One of the important innings will be "Tsunami Tuesday", Feb. 5th, and you can get a Front Row Seat at the Meramec-High Ridge (Rock?) Democratic Club meeting at the House Springs Lions Club. We'll have at least one TV (Cable) to watch the returns to see who gets a Hit, if anybody steals a base and how many Strike Out! Please plan to join us for a delightful evening of camaraderie and maybe a few surprises. We'll see if anybody tries a Suicide Bunt.
