Howdy folks! Happy Christmas.

I'm not sure it's the best choice to wait until you're asked to decide your faithÂ¦ at any moment you might have to know what you believe...one might find themselves eternally damned, and how would that work for visiting the relatives, especially around the holidays?

Are you worried about the economy? I'm not anymore. While being questioned about the U.S. auto maker problems George Bush said yesterday he didn't want to leave Barack Obama a crisis to face on his first day in office (in a month), so I guess we will have the wars, our economy, and global warming solved by then. Perhaps he is thinking our country won't last the month.

If you were a baby in the early sixties or before you know what the Federal Reserve Board's prime interest rate chart can tell us. If not: Let me explain. You see when money is worth less inflation is rampant. We all need to make more to pay our bills, because we all need to make moreÂ¦ Then it's hard to borrow, because no one wants to lend you money at a rate that won't compete with inflation. I say inflation but really the action is depreciation of the purchasing ability with our currency. Our current financial situation is not reflected on the graph. It may need to be expanded vertically.

But don't let that bother you! Look we are at war in a few ways. I mean there's the WARS, but then there's the manipulative games countries play. Like little kids in a playground each expecting our own values and desires to apply to everyone... Kim Jong II is probably laughing his ass off watching us scramble to repair our nuclear "deterrent" capabilities. That expensive activity of ours doesn't deter conventional weapons it's just supposed to scare other countries away from bombing the shit out of us. The idea being; we will bomb the shit out of them at the same timeÂ¦ Then we have to try to execute and pay for our current wars too. If that's not amusing you contemplate Iran, and Pakistan. Very funny.

All this war is warming up the planet at an alarming rate. Remember global warming? I know it is rumored to be a farce, but arctic temperatures are up by 4C this winter. Sea level rose by 1.5 cm in the last three years. This problem becomes exponential because more exposed land where glaciers recede and less sea ice help the planet absorb more of the Sun's warming radiation.

Maybe George hopes we can run to Mars before we all die. Where life used to exist? Doesn't that make you wonder whoÂ¦or what failed on Mars, and why? There is evidence of previous tide and weather cycles. Maybe the first humans came from there. Logically then we should run the other way. Venus might be a bit too warm though.

Now you may be thinking I have finally lost my mind, and given up hope. But hope is the one thing I have left really (my mind's been gone a long time :o). I'm not optimistic that things can't get worse from here, but it seems more of us are at least paying attention. People are starting to waste less. Is it too late? Probably, however you would have to be a dumb ass not to try. Earth is our birthplace after all.

When our new president takes office he won't have a crisis to face, there will be several. We need to do everything we can to help make the necessary changes possible. Drive less. Recycle. Volunteer. Teach others. With the new year, and the new president let us each please make a commitment to be the most responsible stewards of our children's inheritance we can. Not for the next year: Forever. From now on. Is that too much?

Maybe it's not as bad as I think.

Hey Y'all,
I'm a little slow, but it just occurred to me that as a nation we have been here before. The crazy McCarthy crackdown on communism, the post Pearl Harbor attack temporary internment camps of Japanese Americans.

That means we can fix this.

We can get rid of the administration that violates human rights, tortures people, and holds suspects for years without charging them. Restore due process. If we play our cards right we can have the criminals culpable exposed to the real American justice system.

Are you afraid it doesn't work? It's got a couple hundred year track record of missing about thirty percent of the time. Them's good odds where I live.

Please think seriously before you vote. Read your voter's pamphlet, and if your state doesn't provide one; read what the contestants have to say about their position, not what their opponents say about their positions.

As Usual

Common, customary, and even habitual. When I hear the words I cringe: "Politics as usual"

Oh, you mean like deciding whether votes count well after they are cast? How about changing your mind about whether people followed the rules?

Like junkies on drugs we keep using the same system expecting better results.

So what is usual that I really fear? Nameless big buck corporate leaders, and foriegn nations controlling my home government!

There is no difference between Mr. Bush, and Mrs. Clinton on any level of "politics as usual".

Slander, misrepresentation, outright lies followed by retractions. Corporate funding. History of questionable legality. Culpable of the war in Iraq.

I imagine her presidency would be politics as usual at best. There might be some new low she could bring us to as well...

This is just my opinion, but the changes that were made in the war effort since Nancy Pelosi became the lead dog in the house have amounted in more American deaths. My point here is that Nancy had to be a Representative involved in the system for a long time to get where she is; And she suggested things would get shaken up if the democrats held majority. When she took office she sat down with George and he pointed out his FBI file on her, said he owned her ass, and has been telling her what to do ever since.

Things would be worse with Hilary Clinton. The idiots who tell our president what to do will have many cards to play on her. I bet she would "stay the course", but in a more "it's not my fault" kind of way.

Obama and Edwards. That is the ticket.

Imagine even wanting to be leader of a nation with a failing economy, it's ass exposed wide in two wars, military stretched thin, massive debt, and lazy population... It's hard to believe we get any applicants at all, or at least it's easy to see why so many of them are criminals.

I guess you wouldn't have to worry about being the worst president ever thanks to George W. Bush :o)

oprah's sad show......

...began with a video tribute to sophie, so needless to say, i cried for an hour. the puppy mill scenes were hideous. she also featured a segment on dogs who had been rescued. i could have lived without the video of a dumpster full of euthanized dogs. that was gross. i left the room during the neutering segment. two points she drove fully home: do not buy a dog at a pet store. ideally, go to a shelter; lacking that, to an akc-registered breeder. second, pets MUST be spayed or neutered. this is better for their health and also to eliminate the out of control pet population. ya know, the one bob barker told us about for decades!! one guest told us that male pet owners are most reluctant to neuter their male dogs. DUH!!!! it's not YOUR balls, butthead. overall, i think oprah did a great service to sophie and to the animal community. it was a wonderful program, and i hope you were able to watch.

Then I wonder: We are already so screwed, with the Chinese debt, and the two wars...is a military victory possible that compensates the treasury?

Do we need McCain to secure Iraq as a source of hydrocarbons so we can remain dinosaurs into our extinction?

I mean four years later the world is still going to hell.

Does anyone realize george bush's budget cuts defense spending just after he leaves office? Does anyone care that our congress let that criminal submit a budget that makes no sence at all?

First let me thank the folks who didn't ship the Edwards stickers I ordered a month ago, I don't have to take them off.
Can you believe what is happening? Our executive branch is playing our legislative branch just like 2003. Someone suggested getting democrats to replace the republicans in congress would change things...

If as president of this great nation you react to a threat and start a war, then during that war elect to begin another war, causing you to lose both wars, several thousand american lives, lot's of cash (and debt), and most of our international friends I think you've done something more than incompetent.

I think Mr. George W. Bush may be found culpable of criminal acts if the legislature decided to investigate and act. But start by shutting his crazy illegalities down, not approving "retro-active immunity"! What is that? Can I get some? None for all america should mean none for nobody. Make that criminal pardon them if he's okay with violating our laws.

I'm actually starting to think my worst nightmare could be true: Nancy Pelosi, John Edwards, Dick Cheney, John McCain...They all work together to plot the sick course so a greedy few can make bank. Or wouldn't someone stand up and say something intelligent like: Impeach the criminal, then prosecute all the criminals fairly under the law.

And again, I didn't swear...but I think this would show more of the compassion I feel and emphasize how wrong things must be.

Can electing Barack Obama make a difference? I hope we get to find out!

It seems the mainstream media is finally picking up the article I blogged on Presidential candidate and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s son in which he is accused of torturing and murdering a stray dog.

First we heard from Michael Markarian who writes the Animals & Politics blog for the Humane Society Legislative Fund. He has run a post covering more information about the incident and how the only person to receive punishment was NOT the younger Huckabee; it was the man who refused to drop the investigation, the former director of the state police.

Newsweek has come out with their article covering the story.

I just hope voters are seeing the news.
