Seeking Thoughts… Please, respond if you have the opportunity.

What is the Difference between a Government whose laws do not respect religion, and a Government whose laws respect religion?

It would seem that the laws need to be broken down in order to determine the truth. Between those who do, and those who don’t. Sounds pretty simple, except there are a lot of Governments who do respect religion, and very few that do not. (Including our own)

Religion isn’t just about what God you believe in. If that were the case, then I think it would be obvious to say that everyone believes in God, and some do not believe a God exists. But if you think of God as nature itself, then everyone would believe in God, because I don’t think nature is a deniability. So now, assuming God IS nature, responsible for life itself… Creating the heaven and the Earth, animal and man, etc. etc.

So a few days ago I said that I believed that Campbell Brown was a republican stooge. Well, I have just been proven correct. Here is a link to her crappy piece on cnn.com where she opens up about "broken promises." Hey Campbell, come out and just let us known that you are nothing but a republican stooge just like "Joe the Plumber." Yeah, I am totally convinced now that you are not a republican, ha! This is how the skunk works at the RNC works. They pick people and put them in front of the media as either unbiased observers or innocent citizens but in reality these people are all republican party workers. How could anyone have believed she was not. First of all she is married to a republican who directly served Paul Bremmer in Iraq. Second, she started a program called "no bias, no bull" sound familiar, fox calls their program "fair and balanced." Any time you hear anything to do with fairness become suspicious immediately because 9.99999 out of 10 times it will be a republican trying to pull one over you. And today we see Campbell, for some reason every time I hear that name I see a picture of a cow, getting into the act of attacking Sen. Obama. Campbell is a REPUBLICAN STOOGE!

She yaked on cnn about how Sarah Palin was being treated unfairly because she spent $150k on clothing. Hello!!! Hey Campbell, get your head out of your behind and stop saying "no bias no bull" when all you are is biased and full of bull! The problem with $150k being spent on Palin's wardrobe isn't that she bought clothes, the problem is that first a "house's worth of clothing" was purchased for her. Second, the money came out of campaign funds! Poor John Edwards was lambasted for getting a $400 haircut, which of course he repaid back to his campaign according to him. So, Campbell, she is married to a republican who served under PAUL BREMMER, yeah that idiot, get real!

Mark Jacoby, who owns a firm hired by the California Republican Party, violated state laws with his own registration, authorities say.

SACRAMENTO -- The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario over the weekend on suspicion of voter registration fraud.

State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that all signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California. His firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM, collects petition signatures and registers voters in California and other states.

Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department late Saturday came after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by people employed by YPM. The voters said YPM workers tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters.

The firm was paid $7 to $12 for every Californian it registered as a member of the GOP.

2008-10-04 Republicans, the Cult of Individual Interest and the Threat to Capitalism

The events of the past year have been breathtaking. We now have Republican John McCain swinging wildly from long held tenants of deregulation to a new found populist montra of regulation (at least in finance). Meanwhile the capital markets and businesses large and small across the country and around the world wait anxiously to see how all of the volatility in both the financial and political marketplaces will affect them. What is really going on here?

The now infamous Republican icon Ronald Reagan ushered in an era of deregulation and tax cuts with unrestrained government spending particularly on favored conservative welfare recipients in the defense industry and commercial agriculture. The idea often muted was to load up the government with so much debt and such limited revenues that there would simply be no money left over to spend on society in general. Individuals with means would somehow take care of themselves and we could ignore everyone else in good conscience as deadbeats. This idea has now been utterly discredited by 8 years of the failed policies of the Bush administration. But I think it would be easy to take away the wrong lessons from the experience.

The real issue is that Republicans either don't understand or don't care to engage the complexities in the balance of incentives and disincentives in the proper functioning of capitalism. Businesses may say that they don't like taxes or government regulations but what they really find hard to cope with is uncertainty. It is arguable that cutting taxes aids the individual shareholder. But if that leaves government unable to fund public education or health care in the end the same businesses and shareholders will have a hard time finding and retaining competent workers in order to grow and prosper. Similarly deregulation is appealing up until it stimulates underpriced environmental degradation and unrestrained risk taking that not only threatens long-term earnings but even the on going viability of businesses and whole sectors as presently seen on Wall Street.

While the profit motive is an important incentive to business, the fact is that taxes and regulations are also necessary components of the societal framework for capitalism to grow and flourish. American capital, hard work and ingenuity have proven time and time again to respond to this framework for the benefit of investors, competitors, workers and the environment alike.

The Republican Party lost its way when it decided for short-term political advantage under the chimera of small government to take a sledge hammer to this proven framework by attempting to remove the disincentives of taxes and regulations. We were told that by focusing purely on the needs of individual investors that somehow the markets and society would take care of themselves. Again American capital, hard work and ingenuity responded to this policy redirection but with a plethora of unintended consequences. The immediate result was moral hazard and an orgy of risk taking unrestrained by even the slightest fear of regulatory accountability. In some sense the $700B bailout has even validated this belief by ultimately rescuing many of the American and global investors who were invited to the party. And now as the Federal Reserve wrecklessly ramps up the printing presses; society, investors, workers, taxpayers and the environment alike will all suffer grievously as a direct result.

Capitalism isn't threatened by sensible regulatory, tax and social spending policies that reflect the common stake that we all have in markets and society as a whole. On the contrary, it is precisely the absence of these considerations in a misguided indulgence of individual self interest that has proven disastrous for all concerned.

MSNBC should call itself ads and hail republican network

All I see on MSNBC is are ads and more ads and more ads and then the commentators come in and talk up the republican ticket. Then they bring in some dude who thinks he is a spokesperson for the democratic party and ask him some tough questions, which he is unable to answer with any real conviction. Then the MSNBC wackos bring in Heather Wilson from New Mexico and ask her questions that are biased towards the republicans more than the whole fox new network. How in the world anybody can call MSNBC a democratic cable network is beyond me.

Last night on news channels I heard McCain say to his supporters that Sen. Obama was a decent family man, however, I just saw one of his thugs on MSNBC with David Schuster say that he still believes that Sen. Obama is a terrorist. Of course we can just brush this aside as one rogue campaign official sounding his opinion but I can we really give McCain campaign this benefit of the doubt? NO! We can never trust republicans to play clean and fair. So implore the Obama campaign and the DNC to start a media war in which we call McCain a SCUMBAG. Why?

The answer to this question is quiet clear. Any one who is willing to spread lies about others through others is a coward and a scumbag. Sen. McCain has done just that. He says one thing himself while getting his surrogates to call Sen. Obama a terrorist. In my book calling any citizen of this country a terrorist is attacking their patriotism.

I as a veteran support free speech for any citizen and more so for veterans like McCain, however, I don't support people lying about other people. Sen. McCain is lying about Sen. Obama and I find that an act of cowardice and cowards are SCUMBAGS. Sen. McCain is a SCUMBAG!

ACORN VOTER FRAUD: Is Your Vote Safe?

ARE YOU PROTECTED FROM VOTER FRAUD?

YES. Did you know State & Federal Election Law works:

1. Registrations are due 30 days before an election.
2. Federal Law requires that all registrations are verified to have the correct name and I.D. # (SSN or State ID) on them.
3. If a voter registration doesn't verify, then no vote can be made.
4. Deceased and multiple voter registrations are cleaned from systems.

THE SYSTEM WORKS

Contrary to some things in the media as of late, a voter registration for a 13 year old would never make it past the system. They wouldn't be able to vote.

Why are all these new stories spinning?

Because of a fake "consumers advocate" organization, called the Consumers Rights League.

Consumers Rights League is the same "consumers advocate" organization that lobbied for deregulation of banks:

- to give loans to the poor for "community reinvestment"
- work against a Bill that would force credit card companies to have a set merchant interest rate (Visa was also against this)
- AND NOW they are lobbying against ACORN even though ACORN's voter registrations don't increase election fraud (false voting).

WHY? Because they are protecting the interests of predatory lending institutions and want Republicans in office. Democrats will cause more regulation. They in no way work for the best interests of the citizens. They work for banks. The Consumers Rights League has gotten the news out about ACORN, which Republican media grabbed onto because it's beneficial to them... to block poor, black votes (Democrat votes). They've made the public be afraid that election fraud is going on. They've made it sound like targeting groups for voter registrations is illegal, but it's not. Both parties do it. Both parties have 3rd party voter registration companies too, that submit many incorrect registrations.

CRL just got into the business of "voter protection" when they collaborated with Senate Republicans to testify at a September 24, 2008 Congressional hearing on the 2008 General Election. During that hearing two Republican Senators asked many questions about ACORN. All four Election officials that testified, said that ACORN and 3rd party voter drive groups were more of a blessing then a curse. They said they saw nothing out of the ordinary with ACORN's "fraudulent registrations". They were normal for voter drive groups. The other panel of organizations were there to protect voter rights... which included the DOJ and consumer advocates for the Military, foreclosed homeowners, new citizens, and minorities. Then there was Jim Terry from CRL. He was the odd one out. He was only there against ACORN. After that hearing (where officials said ACORN was an asset to the community) Congress ordered an FBI investigation on them. It's a terrible story of voter suppression. Consumers Rights League, ACORN, & Congress

I've been investigating ACORN for the past 2 days. Nearly all of the voter fraud allegations against ACORN have come from the Consumers Rights League.

The Consumers Rights League just popped up out of nowhere. I called them. There is only one person running this "non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization", Jim Terry.

Practically the whole document substantiates its findings with news articles, no actual court cases. My research is showing that many of these articles don't exist or refer to cases that were shown to have a low-level employee filling out voter registrations to show paid-time work, but Prosecutors of these cases point out that there was obviously NO INTENT TO CAST A VOTE with these.

One of Terry's citations in his written testimony:

Statement from the Prosecuting Attorney on the case:

Jim Terry is the one credited for "exposing ACORN" and his "findings" are the primary source of quotes against ACORN. He's been quoted throughout the news & even interviewed on FOX News.

This is a Republican posing as a Consumer Advocate organization, setup to smear ACORN (and subsequently Obama).

McCain frustrated at how things are going

I saw a report on yahoo news recently that John McCain seems to be very irritated in recent interviews. After Sarah Palin becoming a political laughing stock due to the cast of Saturday Night Live, I wouldn't expect him to react any other way. I'm not voting for the man, but I think he's made a couple serious mistakes he should have seen the repurcusions ahead of time from.First of all, choosing a beautiful female VP is going to put much more attention on her every words than someone who has less attractive qualities. I haven't heard much at all about Joe Biden in the past couple weeks, but if Obama had picked a female just as equally as attractive as Palin, as unjust as it sounds, I believe she'd be taking the spotlight just as much. As a nation, and as sad as it is to mention, many of the people cannot look beyond Palin's looks and look at her seriously about politics. I believe McCain should have seen this coming, and would be ready for the news media's onslaught.

On another note, he decided to chum it up with Bush. Surely they are out there, but I haven't met many republicans that feel too confident voting for someone that's a buddy with the guy. In my opinion, I don't think this was such a smart move. When going against someone as articulate as Obama, you've got to be ready for everything.

McCain and Palin are both terrorists

McCain and Palin are terrorists because they are trying to hijack our country so that they can turn it into a theocracy like Iran. Listening to Ahmadinajad speak at Columbia last year and then his interview with Larry King this year was like listening to McCain or Palin. Tim McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber, showed similar thinking as Palin and McCain, so I believe that both McCain and Palin are terrorists. McCain and Palin are both terrorists and anybody who votes for these two is unAmerican and unpatriotic.

I feel sorry for Palin's little baby

That poor baby gets dragged to nearly all her public appearances to remind everybody that she is a "hockey" mom. If she had been a democratic candidate the media would have destroyed her by stating the obvious but I guess the republican candidates get a pass. It is absolutely pathetic the way that poor little baby gets dragged around and not one news outlet says anything. Whether the candidate is male/female or democrat/republican it is absolutely unacceptable for it to be dragged around in such an inhumane manor. An absolute shame!

The current financial meltdown is only one of many potential scenarios that result when we have rich conservatives in control of the world. Money, natural resources, even water: if greedy rich conservatives have their way, they will control it all. I hope that what is happening in DC is enough of a wake up call for the American people to say no to conservative politics in any form--Republican or Democratic. If there is any hope for the majority of the people on our planet, it will be found in progressive, not conservative, politics and it must begin here in the USA, the largest democracy on the planet.

Whatever settlement is worked out in regard to the Wall Street meltdown should be such that the American taxpayers are paid back every penny loaned WITH INTEREST before one red cent of profit is handed out to the shareholders and executive management of these financial firms.

If you think that the conservative's greed and insane need for control stops with money--think again. Water is a vital part of life, but should it be a commodity? It will be if rich conservatives and their corporations have their way, and not just in developing countries where the issue seems paramount, but in the United States as well. Water is currently a $400 billion industry, the third largest behind oil and electricity. Because of pollution, scarcity and corporate control, water availability is the largest issue facing humanity in this century. Of the 6 billion people on Earth, 1.1 billion do not have access to safe drinking water. In addition, contaminated drinking water kills more humans than AIDS or war.

For years I have lived for the day when the word "Republican" would be a curse from hell to any politican. I would prefer it to be "Conservative" because there is little difference between a conservative Democrat and a Republican, but for now I'll settle for the Republican's brand being in the toilet. I don't think that it will come back either.

A Republican candidate running for office in the state of Washington is being sued by the Democrats. The candidate, instead of "Republican" by his name wants to post GOP PARTY (never mind the redundancy) beside his name instead of "Republican"

To be a Republican today is as bad as it was in 2004 to be a liberal. Eat your hearts out Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. You can run, but you can't hide. At last your party is so tarnished, with your lies, greed and deceptions that your rusted knees might not even make it to the pasture.

The 2006 film, "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West", which has been accused by critics of encouraging Islamophobia, was reportedly delivered, or slated for delivery this weekend, into tens of millions of households in states such as Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Missouri and other "swing states" that don't vote consistently for either party and usually decide elections.

Republicans and their candidate, Sen. John McCain, have made the battling the threat posed by radical Islamists a central platform of their campaign, while presenting their Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama, as being weak on the issue. Obama has also fought off persistent "smear" campaigns, particularly among Jewish voters, that he is a closet Muslim.
