My Story: Growing up in Orange County, CA I started out as a GOP kid who liked Richard Nixon. I was in college when Reagan came in and started cutting aid to higher education. I realized that the so-called Reagan Revolution wasn't about helping people achieve the American Dream, and I decided I needed to become an active Democrat. I worked on the Hill for a Democratic Congressman for the rest for the Reagan years and all through the BushI years. In 1992, I got on the mommy track, but stayed active in DEM politics as a volunteer. I ran against Bill Howell in 1995. (Did pretty good, but wish I'd done better.) I had a great experience as a Sorensen Institute Fellow in 1996 and I was honored to receive a DPVA Grass Roots Award in 2003. Now I like to help other people run for office and I moderate a lively DEM discussion group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sdc-iss...
