My Story: I am a lesbian who is a disabled veteran (I have service-connected MS). Gay and veteran issues are very close to my heart. It is my ultimate wish that the military will recognize gay and lesbians who serve and open up the benefits system to domestic partners. If my married partner Cecilia could share in the same Veterans and retired military benefits that other married couples get to share -- what a wonderful situation that would be. I hope that sometime in my lifetime that will be the case.
