My Story: I was raised a Democrat when my parents voted that way. My parents came to America before I was born - that was more than two decades ago. I am currently a student at Cal State Long Beach, and I had a brief stint with the Green Party, before I realized that this was my destiny - to support the Democratic Party. I dealt with a lot of adversity - mainly when I was in junior high school. I made the wrong decision then, and paid the price. Once I realized what I was doing help, I found help through my family, my network of peers, and through my local leaders. I then decided as I was ready to go through voting in my first election that I would support the Democratic Party. I have a liberal mindset. I am a feminist. And I believe that the war in Iraq is a bad thing, and that as Democrats, we need an exit strategy now. By doing this, we can focus on the things that matter, like education, health care, and the elderly.
