My Story: I was a hippie chick and will go to my grave that way. I protested in the streets when Nixon escalated the war and saw friends and family get shipped off to Nam. Most came back, some didn't, none were ever the same. I wore one of the bracelets for a GI in Nam and years later found his name on The Wall. I still cherish the letters I received in response to my 'to any GI in Viet Nam' letters. I wonder if these past generations will ever know what made us who we are. Why we know it's so important to KNOW what is really going on. Seems government lies and corruption haven't changed that much...gotten worse in the last 8 years. I was propelled into politcs big time in the early 90's. I had a mission. I daughter that was dying and never walked or spoke and maxed out her insurance. Did a lot of things, used the media, they used me, testified before Congress, met Bill Clinton and later became one his '50 Faces of Hope', people that inspired him. Was invited to the Inaugaration and front row seats to all events, all expenses paid the whole week. So yes, I know them...been to the Oval Office many times to visit and talk about health care. A Bill was passed years later named after my daughter to help others with the same problems. Became a surragate speaker for Health Care Reform for Hillary's plan, made tons of national media appearences and then 'retired' politically. But then Al Gore came along, then Kerry and I helped in smaller ways. Then Obama came along and I had to choose. I chose Obama for many reasons. And here I am......fired up and ready to go...again. Not tired yet. Funny, it feels like people cared more before. A lot of folks with tunnel vison these days, unitl Obama. Hope!
