My Story: I have become passionate about several issues through my own experiences. My brother is a retired Marine who proudly served his country and did a tour in Iraq. I beleive they should come home but it should be done properly so they can all come home alive. I'm passionate about gay rights because I am a lesbian and believe I should be able to love and marry any person I want, as well as walk down the street holding her hand without fear. I am Mexican-American from parents who were born and raised in Mexico and believe there needs to be a better way to deal with immigrants simply trying to live "the American dream." I am a graduate student getting a degree in non-profit management and have worked in non-profits advocating for the homeless and the mentally ill. I am an active volunteer in my community and have been part of several groups and projects.
