My Story: The first election I remember was 1996, and the first election I participated in (as a volunteer) was 2005. The infatuation has ended since! Low youth voter participation is not the fault of young people, but the candidates and parties that offer no positive proposals for their lives. If the Democratic Party would like to become a mass party (though it would still likely be untrusted) it must give people an actual difference in policy from the status quo. Unil then it is likely that no more than 25% of 18-29 year olds will bother to participate in elections. The youth of today is under the worst assualt in history with the prospects of ecological collapse. Funding schools with corporate food courts doesn't help.
I'm 17 until late April. I will probably spend the rest of my life somewhere with nicer weather. I am also interested in visiting Texas and the South this summer on a bus, because I've never been there before.
