My Story: I was born in a family with one parent and I saw how hard she worked to provide for her family. My mother was always a Democrat because she beleive in having the American dream of values and a strong character. I I wanted to become a politican when I was ten years-old growing up in Savannah, Georgia. As a young girl growing-up, I heard politicans talking about families on welfare without father and too many single-parent households. I wanted that ideology to change for the better. I finished high school and I knew I was going to college but my grades were not good in high school. I spent my entire summer that year reading every math book, english book, history book etc. I taught myself what I needed to past my college exam to get into Maco Junior College. I did got into this college that Fall term after high school. I was still lose and did not understand what it took to make it in college. I tranferred to a college in South Georgia in Douglas, Georgia. I still did not know what I wanted to do so I waited around trying to think of my future in politics. I decided in 1996 to attend Savannah Tech College in Savannah, Georgia majoring in Marketing & Management. I had a plan at that time what a politican should understand about government and the people around them. I completed this degree and decided to attend Idaho State college in Pocatello, Idaho. This move was out of character for me because I was the only Black in all of my college classes. My major was Political Science. I was now beginning to understand my place in this world and how I was going to become a positive politican. I was elected for so many student political positions and I did well in my community. I final realized that I was an excellence public speaker. I had a way of getting others to beleive in my views and poltical issues. I finished and recieved my degree at Idaho State University. I learned while I was in Idaho that diversity can come in so many ways in life. Now, I am in Mississippi at Mississippi State University majoring in Political Science. I am recieving my Master's Degree this semester. However, I am still in the Public Policy program and this Master's degree will be complete next December. I am ready to become a politican but I need training working with different campaigns now. I want to run for State Senate and then U.S House of Representative. I know I am ready because my education has been the key in this long long path I have paved for myself and my daughter.I am involve with a wonderful individual that I love and respect. We are hoping to adoption a child and then I can run for political office.
