My Story: Largely moderate, frequently liberal, and occasionally conservative, one of my frustrations had been watching (until this last election) the decade of impotence of the Democratic party, leading to a dangerous shift to the right. My perception is that this is not a result of a societal shift but a result of inflammatory rhetoric on the part of liberals and their institutions, alienating the center. In addition to trying to convince my fellow voters about the ills of party monopolies on power, I have also tried to influence fellow liberals by pointing out that there are plenty of reasons to dislike Bush without having to make stuff up.
