Calling All Hunterdon Democratic Activists! (Organizing)
All across the country, Democrats are turning their attention to neighborhood organizing, the simple act of talking to the people around them about what they think, what's at stake in the War and at home, and what needs to happen in 2008. This is a Training & Planning Session for 2008 Victory
Calling All Democratic Activists! Join us - Wednesday, Dec. 5 for a Special Democratic Organizing Event with local Democrats
Join the Experiment: We'll watch a short training video with the national Democratic Party's Political Director David Boundy & DNC Chair Howard Dean as we explore what works & what doesn't in local organizing. Then join the experiment, as some of participants - maybe even you? - take on just 25 households in their immediate neighborhoods. Let's see what we can accomplish by simply talking to our neighbors.
Finding our voters: It's never too early to learn how Democrats & progressive activists can work together. Let's talk strategy - how to wake up your neighborhood's Democrats, engage like-minded unaffiliated voters and break open new opportunities for local victory in rapidly-changing Hunterdon.
Linda Stender Strategy 2008: All this is designed to light up our Linda Stender strategy, solidify NJ-12 for Rush Holt, and give our local candidates a better shot. Hunterdon was the big surprise in Stender's breathtaking near-victory in 2006. County-wide, we jumped an amazing 9 points for Stender, over the 2004 campaign. But what would it mean if all our neighborhoods were connected by Democratic activists like you, talking to their neighbors, about what's at stake in 2008?
Let's talk about that ...
This event is also cross-posted at Hunterdon Democracy for America (DFA), and on the Democratic PartyBuilder groups Hunterdon County Democrats and Tewksbury Democratic Committee. Please join us! Note: this is being held in conjunction with Hunterdon DFA's regular meetup. You don't have to be a member to come, but you're invited to join: here.
