The Democratic Party Builder Manifesto
Reporting...
Group Profile
First and foremost, we are Democrats; members of a political party that we uphold as our appointed and elected form of government. While we take pride in acting as individuals, we agree that these Democratic principals are the very reason that we congregate here. Thus, we concede to collectively abide by the living document set forth herein and pledge to maintain a respectful climate of discourse with one another. This charter shall be made available and amendable to all parties, willing and impassioned, to embrace it and improve it, non-exclusively. Our opinions are our own and will not be edited or censored but by our own volition when posting them. However, once released as commentary onto another Democrat's post, all who read it may respond in respectful confutation. All elements of respect are key to our success. Although agreement is optional, an inherent value for considerate responses is paramount. Regardless of which Democratic campaign we support, we recognize that any Democratic candidate would boldly defend our rights to speak out against them or their rhetoric. While the body politic may not absorb all opinions positively, they should be met with consideration and clarity when providing a rebuttal. In order to maintain such reverence, we should consider our sources. Innuendo, hearsay, conjecture and the like will be met with recurrent demand for viable sources; linked and properly cited. Any claim to factual commentary should be referenced as best to one's ability. It is encouraged that others engage in supporting or opposing the position with equal resolve. As much as it is inevitable that we, as Democrats, may still find contention in each other's statements from time to time, we must remain in the affirmation of human grace that hatred of any kind is to be fiercely rebuked. It should be with careful consideration that one speaks on matters of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religious affiliation in negative terms. To focus on any one person's identity with such intent is an endangerment to Democratic Unity and may be construed as sexism, racism, bigotry or overtly judgmental. It disgraces our party, our candidates and the good people with whom we claim philosophical unity.
