Me & grandson Deshawn, steering for a better life

It's not just Old Man McCain we have to beat, though. We need a Democratic Congress with a veto-proof majority in both houses. Sure, I want you to donate $25, $50, or $100 or more through this website of mine, but what's more important to me is that you make sure you donate some of your money and time to local, state, and Congressional candidates, too.

Take this picture of me and my grandson when we were on a trip to the British Virgin Islands a few years back. He's the apple of my eye, my best friend. Since I posted this photo here, scalliwags tried to demean this website AND MY FAMILY by sending in deragotory names, calling Deshawn the "N" word, and throwing incredible insults about his mother, some of the vilest and most racist remarks ever.

THAT'S just one of the reasons why I want us to blow the GOFP (grand old fascist party) out of the water this election. I want this process of hatred as a family value and political ploy to die out and die out forever. We can start that now.

The next president will have an opportunity to nominate as many as three Supreme Court justices. But if we don't have a veto-proof Congress, the Grand Old Fascist party will have a chance to block the judges we really need. And we need judges who will ensure Roe V. Wade remains law and that women's reproductive judgments stay between a woman, her doctor, and her family, if she so chooses. We need judges who are going to overturn all of the catastrophic assaults on the constitution that has become "law" during the signing statement years of "Republican" rule.

And we need a Congress that will have the gumption and votes to pass legislation we truly need concerning health care, the environment, rational energy policies, and economic reform that ensures those at the bottom of our society are treated with respect. This past administration has treated those at the top of the American pyramid like kings. We need to overturn the tax giveaways for the rich, increase opportunites in business, employment, and education for the poor, and preserve the middle class by stopping the overseas job drain.

I also want justice. Saying W&Co and the GOFP have committed crimes of all magnitude during the past eight years is an understatement. This next Democratic government needs to come in with the backbone to investigate, indict, convict, and sentence all of those who have broken the law since Nov., 2008, regardless of the office or position they held. If we are not serious about justice, and not serious about prosecuting those who have literally raped our nation, our people, and the planet these eight years, then we're not serious, IMO.

Yes, I consider the "Republicans" of today to be our brand of fascists for today and tomorrow. They wear flag lapel pins, not armbands. They hoist the cross and they shoulder assault weapons while draping themselves in the flag. They perform ethnic cleansing by proxy in foreign countries. They have married corporations, religion, and government into an unholy trinity that is as unamerican as anything ever envisioned by dictators such as those we fought against in WW2 and the Cold War. I say enough. I hope you say enough, too.

We need to save our democracy, our rights, our environment, and our way of life for the next generation and beyond.
