Dear Congressional Republicans,

The best hope for rural America is to enact the Democratic agenda. That means we need to improve the economy by raising the minimum wage and guaranteeing affordable access to technology, including Internet access. It means we need to achieve energy independence and lessen the burden on farmers facing fuel prices more than double what they were four years ago with alternative energy resources from the heartland. It means we need to expand opportunities for farmers in trade deals and provide disaster relief. It means we need to fight for retirement security by fighting against Republican attempts to privatize Social Security for more than 8 million rural Americans that receive the benefits.
