Maintaining a healthy and robust economy that works for working families requires tax and trade policies and a jobs agenda that encourage companies to create and keep good jobs here at home. The global economy is not a blank check justifying tax policies that reward companies for shipping work overseas or trade policies that promote a race to the bottom, bringing down standards for America’s workers instead of raising standards for workers here and abroad. Let Republicans know you expect them to enact tax and trade policies that protect American workers, while raising global living standards.
Dear Congressional Republicans,
I urge you to support America’s workers. Globalization is not a justification for tax policies that actually reward companies for shipping jobs overseas or for trade policies that lower standards for America’s workers instead of raising them for workers here and abroad. The Republicans in Congress should work with Democrats to reform our tax laws to reward companies that create and keep jobs in America and reject trade agreements that cost jobs for America’s workers and reduce living standards at home and abroad.
Sincerely,
