Democrats stood together to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act. On every civil rights issue, Democrats have led the fight. We support vigorous enforcement of existing laws, and remain committed to protecting fundamental civil rights in America. Dear Congressional Republicans,

Democrats support vigorous enforcement of existing civil rights laws, and have made a commitment to protecting fundamental rights in America. I am appalled that some members of the Republican Party voted against reauthorizing the Voting Rights Act. A small minority nearly derailed a historic and necessary bill from passing. I support civil rights in this country and I urge you to do the same.
