Medicare Should Work For All Seniors
Most seniors rely on Medicare to help defray the costs of prescription drugs. However, many are just now learning about the big, unexpected loophole in the new Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. After seniors or retirees meet their Medicare deductible, the government covers 75% of their drug costs until those costs reach $2,250. Once they hit that dollar amount, seniors have hit the "doughnut hole," meaning that they pay every penny until their costs reach $5,100. Reportedly two of every three people on Medicare Part D will hit the doughnut hole. If Democrats were in charge, the prescription drug plan would be one of the first things they would fix. Urge Congressional Republicans to do something about the doughnut hole now, before the majority of seniors and retirees are hit with costs they can't afford.

Dear Congressional Republicans,
Two of every three people enrolled in the Medicare Part D plan will pay more than $2,250 for prescription drugs this year. That number is significant because after seniors or retirees meet their Medicare deductible, the government covers 75% of their drug costs until those costs reach $2,250. Once they hit that dollar amount seniors have hit the "doughnut hole," meaning that they pay every penny until their costs reach $5,100. We must do something about the doughnut hole now, before the majority of seniors and retirees are hit with costs they can't afford.
Sincerely,
