Support America's Workers: Raise the Minimum Wage

America’s workers need help. The federal minimum wage is worth less now than at any time in 50 years. The Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress have blocked efforts to raise the minimum wage in the past, but the Democratic Congress passed the wage increase. Republicans had refused to allow this wage hike that would help 7 million low paid workers unless it is tied to a huge tax giveaway for 7,500 multi-millionaires. Urge President Bush to do the right thing and sign legislation to raise the minimum wage.

I urge you to support increase in the minimum wage. The minimum wage is now at its lowest level in 50 years, and the last increase was passed 10 years ago. Partisan shenanigans that tied the urgent need for an increase to huge tax breaks for multi-millionaires were unthinkable. Support working families by raising the minimum wage.
