What are the Most Important Native American, Alaskan Native and Native Hawai‛ian Issues?

Over the past six years, Americans have witnessed a systematic deterioration and near dismantling of Native American programs by the Republican Congress and the Bush Administration. From Head Start to healthcare, from law enforcement to small business; funding for key Native American programs has not kept up with the needs of Indian Country or fulfilled the trust responsibility of the federal government to tribal governments and urban Indians. Tribal governments are working hard to find creative ways to maintain programs that are key to the well-being and growth of their communities, but they need help.
