In this Easter season that is sacred to so many, President Obama and the First Lady join Christians around the world in reflecting upon the foundations of their faith. We are all reminded at this time, and throughout the year, of the important values that guide us. Those common values embodied in compassion, and caring for one another, truly being our brother and sister’s keeper, help to make us great as a nation.

At this his third annual Easter prayer breakfast the President spoke about the great work that these various ministries do within their respective communities and the inspiration he draws from this work. He also reflected on the moments of doubt and uncertainty that all people of faith face from time to time but commented “…that’s precisely when we should remember Christ’s own doubts and eventually his own triumph…We are here today to celebrate that glorious overcoming, the sacrifice of a risen savior who died so that we might live.”
