In response to the Trump administration’s rollback of an Obama-era rule to curb methane waste on public lands, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:

“Donald Trump continues to put corporate profits over the American people’s health and wallets. This senseless decision could waste $1 billion worth of energy over the next decade, while needlessly creating more pollution that hurts our air, climate, and communities. The impacts of Trump’s decision to allow for more harmful methane emissions will be felt for generations to come.”
