As an integral member of the DNC’s Marketing Team, the Data Manager works with the Director of Marketing to provide the best possible data solutions to the marketing and fundraising teams. Primary duties include extracting and analyzing data, writing queries, analyzing trends, and other support of DNC’s fundraising teams. The successful Data Manager will be a strong problem-solver and collaborate closely with the marketing and Technology teams to meet their needs and raise more revenue for the DNC. This position will also develop and document new software procedures based on demonstrated user need.

  • Collaborate on a daily basis with fundraising and membership services teams on data procedures regarding data requests and interactions with several Marketing Database CRMs
  • Extract and analyze data from a Vertica/NGP/BSD databases using standard database reporting tools, SQL, or other tools as required
  • Performs quality control review of data outputs and data loading created by in house team members and third party vendors
  • Work with the Marketing and Technology team members to identify and provide solutions to complex data anomalies uncovered by software analysis
  • Regularly audit procedures with the fundraising teams to ensure data integrity
  • Create custom data output files using standard database output tool or using SQL or other tools as required
  • Provides reports using standard database reporting tool or MS Office products
  • Develops and documents new reporting tools based on user-perceived need
  • Provides procedural and technical advice to data analyst, modelers and non-DNC staff
  • Ensure all data files are imported accurately and in a timely manner
  • Responsible for data hygiene of all imported files
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as assigned
  • Knowledge of NGP/VAN, SQL or other relational databases
  • Knowledge of NGP/VAN, BSD, Vertica Databases (or other nonprofit CRMs) is desirable
  • Knowledge of non-profit fundraising and marketing services
  • Ability to manage highly technical projects with a minimum of supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to use office productivity software such as MS Excel and MS Access
  • Excellent research and analytical skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience with database management
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in membership marketing and fundraising in a non-profit environment. Experience must include working with database products

We are looking for a graphic designer with strong typography skills to help maintain the Democratic National Committee's brand message through all visual communications online and offline.

The ideal candidate has a passion for design, has their eye on the latest web trends, and can demonstrate basic coding skills. Candidates should be able to design within an established brand identity system, while pushing the direction forward. Daily projects would include social media graphics, printed materials for events and press, photograph selection and collaborating with lead designer on larger web projects and campaigns.

You'll work daily to engage millions of Americans to support President Obama, our Democratic nominee, and Democrats across the country, and coordinate with senior leadership to shape our brand.

  • Collaborate with Digital team to execute design decisions for the DNC across digital and traditional platforms
  • Create digital graphics and branded collateral to support all departments of the DNC

The Democratic National Committee is looking for talented digital writers and strategists to join our team for the 2016 election and beyond.

In this job, you'll work daily to engage millions of Americans to support President Obama and Democrats across the country. You’ll also help build an organization to support the Democratic nominee for president, hold the GOP contenders and eventual nominee accountable, and work with Democratic Party stakeholders across the country to elect Democratic candidates for offices up and down the ticket.

Specifically, you will be responsible for planning, writing, and executing grassroots email campaigns, in addition to supporting the work of the Digital team on other cross-channel projects. This is not an entry-level job. You’ll have the opportunity to write in the voices of President Obama, Vice President Biden, our presidential nominee, and top Democratic Party officials as you work with senior leadership to craft our message online.

  • One election cycle or 2+ years experience working in digital strategy for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or non-profit

Washington, DC

Software Engineers build tools for the DNC both internally and for Democratic campaigns across the country. The last few years have seen incredible advances in campaign technology, and Software Engineers will help Democrats leverage these advances, while laying the groundwork for what comes next.

This position reports to the Director of Engineering and will work closely with members of the Technology Department as a member of a team of engineers developing applications and back-end systems for both the DNC and Democratic campaigns and committees.

  • Develop applications to help Democratic campaigns reach the electorate, raise money and turn out voters
  • Commit clean, readable, well-documented code and hustle to fix things when they break
  • Work in all layers of the application stack, from database to application code to user interfaces, across languages and technologies to design seamless experiences
  • Work across our technology department and with non-technical stakeholders to develop products and deliver them on schedule
About You:

You should have experience solving complex technical problems at all levels of the application stack. You want to help Democrats be faster and better at their jobs by decreasing friction for users across our applications. You probably also have:

  • Expertise manipulating huge amounts of data, working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience writing Ruby on Rails and/or Python and parsing new languages and specifications
  • Excitement about working in a highly collaborative team that works under an agile framework

The State Party Victory Fund (SPVF) Coordinator will report to the Deputy Director of Marketing and the Director of Marketing, and coordinate all aspects of the State Party Victory Fund, a multi-million dollar direct mail fundraising program.


Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Executing planning for Victory Fund mailings, setting up mail plan strategy and testing
  • Liaison with DNC staff, state chairs and executive directors to edit and approve copy
  • Managing the production process in cooperation with our consultant, tracking state party mailboxes, income and expenses
  • Managing production of acknowledgments; incorporating web channels into the program
  • Working closing with Director of Marketing and senior staff members at the DNC to grow the Victory Fund
  • Assist with proofing, vendor oversight, administrative, and other tasks associated with DNC grassroots fundraising programs
  • Handle Victory Fund-related inquiries by state party staffers
  • Other special project related duties as assigned
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of work experience
  • Political or other non-profit experience required, fundraising/marketing experience preferred

Various States

Trackers are our eyes and ears, instrumental in the work we do to hold Republicans accountable for their statements and proposals. They are on the ground, attending the Republican events documenting and monitoring the opposition while staying in close contact with the research team in DC. In this position, the Tracker will:

  • Monitor in-state schedules for Republican presidential hopefuls and major surrogates in cooperation with DC Research staff
  • Attend all public events where possible presidential candidates and major surrogates appear and videotape their remarks
  • Immediately flag news-worthy remarks or happenings from the event and quickly transmit the footage to the DC Research office
  • Assist in transcriptions and additional on the ground research needs as requested
  • A reliable vehicle, car insurance and valid driver’s license
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Cunning attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to take direction, ask questions and quickly learn new tasks and databases
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Crucial technical skills include the ability to record and transmit digital video and a resourcefulness in making these systems work on the road
  • Possess a strong political instinct and knowledge of current political events and policy and ability to become well-versed in candidate’s statements
  • Must maintain calm under pressure, be both assertive and respectful enough to get into Republican events, and feel comfortable videoing them
